“Verlag Puppen & Spielzeug“ – Part Of The Wohlfarth Publishing House

The Wohlfarth Publishing House is a medium-sized company with head office in Duisburg, Germany. Since its formation more than 50 years ago the company has been trading under the name of owner and founder Gert Wohlfarth who meanwhile transfered the company management to his son Frank.

Already since 1989 we have been engaged in the subject dolls and toys. In the beginning, two specialist journals were published: “Puppen & Spielzeug”, Germany’s oldest doll magazine (founded in 1976 by Ursula Gauder), and since 1992 “Puppenmachen”, the magazine about doll art and handicraft. In 2005, we took over the "Verlag Marianne Cieslik" and have been issuing the magazines "TEDDYBÄR und seine Freunde" as well as "Ciesliks Puppenmagazin" since then.

Moreover, our product range includes a large book programme, that - also with the help of new authors - has been permanently expanded and today besides books about antique dolls today also comprises those about teddy bears, metal toys, celluloid, dolls’ houses, artist dolls as well as “Ciesliks Preisführer” (Price Guide), being the essential work for each collector.

In 1995, our annual sales fair TEDDYBÄR TOTAL was launched, having soon become the world’s largest teddy bear fair. The TEDDYBÄR TOTAL is the meeting point for lovers of antique and artists bears from all over the world. All big manufacturers as well as the most renowned international artists present their collections here. During this event the "Golden George" is awarded every year in different categories, i.e. the most important award in the teddy bear scene.
